Frequently asked questions

Practical questions before engaging a retainer
If the business already has an accountant, how will the firm work with them?
The firm can work alongside the client's accountant. Our scope of work focuses on interpreting tax law, tax planning, explaining and disputing matters before the Revenue Department, and tax litigation. The division of responsibilities for each task is set out clearly in the service agreement from the outset.
Can the package tier be changed during the year?
Yes. The package can be moved up or down as the business changes. The scope of work is reviewed every 6 months, or upon a significant event such as a business expansion, an acquisition, or a change in tax law that affects the business.
If a tax dispute arises during the year, how are additional costs calculated?
In Tier I and Tier II, tax disputes are charged as a separate fee according to the scope of the case, with a written quotation before work begins. In Tier III, tax disputes and appeals are included in the package, up to 1 case per year — any further case is charged at a special rate for retainer clients.
Which channels can be used for contact each month?
Tier I clients can contact us via LINE and email during business hours. Tier II and Tier III clients can contact us via LINE, email, and direct telephone — all three tiers include quarterly meetings as specified in the agreement.
How is business confidentiality protected?
All information provided by clients is subject to professional ethics and to the confidentiality terms expressly set out in the service agreement. Every member of the firm's team of lawyers and legal consultants is bound by professional ethics and confidentiality obligations.
